Cost, Speed and Payouts Methodology
Overview
Every number in the PropBench Score is plain math on the firm's published rules, so you can redo it with the firm's pages and a calculator. Each plan page shows the working: click any part of the score breakdown.
Two simple models sit behind the numbers. Coin flip odds describe how forgiving a drawdown is against the profit you need, for a trader with no edge. The steady trader makes 0.4% of the account every trading day ($200 on 50K) and never loses, which shows how fast and how much a plan pays someone who trades well.
Metrics
| Metric | Definition |
|---|---|
| Coin flip odds | A trader with no edge reaches a profit of d before losing a static drawdown of D with chance D ÷ (D + d). Intraday trailing (the floor follows the running peak): e^(−d ÷ D) until the floor locks at start + offset, static after that. End of day trailing: halfway between static and intraday trailing. A daily loss limit that ends the account: the drawdown counts as halfway between the limit and the max drawdown. Multiplied across every evaluation step and the funded account's profit needed before the first payout (at least 2% of the account). Two step plans whose balance carries over count as one step to the total target. |
| Cost to Funded | Shown, not scored. What one try costs: the typical paid price plus the activation fee, no retries. Prices are the typical paid price: the time weighted median of what we saw over the last 90 days, sale prices included, once our observations span at least 14 days; otherwise the list price. |
| Average Cost with Retries | Shown, not scored. Price per try divided by the coin flip odds of passing the evaluation. Instant plans: the purchase price. |
| Cost per Payout | The Cost part of the score. Price per try (plus the activation fee times the odds of passing) divided by the coin flip odds of reaching the first payout. Failed evaluations and blown funded accounts both count, so instant and evaluation plans use the same yardstick. |
| Steady trader | Makes 0.4% of the account every trading day ($200 on 50K) and never loses. On plans that only count winning days above a threshold, the same profit is booked in days of that size. Used for Speed and Payouts. |
| Speed | The Speed part of the score. Steady trader days to pass each evaluation step (the most of: target ÷ daily profit, minimum days, and the days a consistency rule needs), plus funded days until the first payout is allowed. A plan whose time limit runs out first never pays. |
| Payouts Kept | The Payouts part of the score. What the steady trader keeps from 63 funded trading days after every payout rule. |
| Fastest possible payout | Shown, not scored. Minimum evaluation days plus the minimum wait before the first payout, for a trader who hits every target right away. |
| Room | Shown, not scored. Max drawdown ÷ distance to the first payout (evaluation profit target + the profit the funded account needs before a payout). Floored at 2% of the account size for plans that pay out any profit. |
| Profit Needed for First Payout | The largest of: payout buffer + minimum payout, the first payout profit goal, and winning days required × winning day threshold. Plans that allow withdrawals before the buffer is cleared use the lower amount. |
| Month One Payout Ceiling | Payout cap × payouts possible in the first 21 funded trading days, given minimum days and payout cycle. |
