Which prop firms changed their rules in October 2026

Topstep loosened its consistency target, FundedNext swapped Legacy for Direct and raised Flex prices, Bulenox dropped a payout perk. Every October rule and price change we logged, firm by firm.

Prop firms rarely announce rule changes. A number moves on a pricing card, a help article gets a new paragraph, a line disappears from the terms. If you bought a plan in September, the rules you read may not be the rules you trade under now.

We save a copy of every public pricing page, rules page, terms page and help article at the futures and crypto prop firms we track, 1,889 pages in all, and compare each copy with the last one. Here is everything that changed in October, up to October 24.

October at a glance

Leaving out cosmetic edits (typos, layout, links), we logged 23 changes at 9 firms between October 1 and October 24.

Firm Changes Nerfs Buffs
FundedNext Futures 5 1 0
Tradeify 4 1 0
Alpha Futures 4 1 3
Topstep 3 0 1
MFFU 2 0 0
BluSky Trading 2 0 0
TradeDay 1 1 0
Take Profit Trader 1 0 1
Bulenox 1 1 0

A nerf is a change that is worse for traders: a higher price, a smaller discount, a stricter rule, a new restriction. A buff is the opposite. Everything else is neutral: new plans, renamed fields, disclosures and promotions that change nothing you trade under. Alpha Futures' three buffs are one discount change that showed up on three pages.

The rule changes that matter

Topstep: consistency target loosened from 50% to 55%

On October 7 all three Trading Combine sizes started showing a 55% consistency target, up from 50%. The target caps how much of your total profit can come from your best day.

On a 50K Combine with a $3,000 profit target, a $2,000 best day used to mean reaching $4,000 in total before passing. At 55% the same day needs about $3,637, roughly $360 less. See the change.

Take Profit Trader: 3 trading days to PRO instead of 5

On October 2 Take Profit Trader's comparison table cut the minimum trading days to reach a PRO account from 5 to 3. You still have to hit the profit target and follow every rule. A trader who hits the target in a day or two now waits three trading days in total, not five. See the change.

FundedNext: Legacy is gone, Direct is in

FundedNext removed its Legacy challenge, the only plan with no daily loss limit and an 80% share, and added Direct: a funded account with no evaluation. Its rules page lists these terms for the 50K:

Rule Direct 50K
Profit target None
Daily loss limit $1,000, trading pauses until the next session
Max loss $2,000, end of day trailing
Consistency 20%, on every withdrawal
Profit split 90%
Activity At least one trade a week

The 20% consistency rule never goes away: to withdraw on $2,000 of profit, no single day can be above $400. Direct lists at $283.99, and on October 24 it was $169.99 with code FNDIRECT. Legacy removed, Direct rules, plan page.

Tradeify: hedging across firms now has its own rule

On October 3 Tradeify's terms gave cross platform hedging its own clause, Section 6.7(i). Holding opposite positions at Tradeify and at another prop firm at the same moment is a violation even without intent, and Tradeify says it may use trade data from NinjaTrader as evidence. Under Section 6.7(h), profits made during the violation are forfeited and Tradeify may close all your accounts. See the change.

On October 13 Tradeify also said it will not close an account until the holder passes identity checks. See the change.

Bulenox: the 100% split on the first $10,000 left the plan cards

Until October 23 every Bulenox plan card listed "First $10,000: 100%". That line was removed from all four cards and nothing replaced it. We label it a nerf until Bulenox says what split now applies to that first $10,000. See the change.

Price and discount changes

Firm Date What changed
Alpha Futures Oct 1 Site discount cut from 50% (APP50) to 40% (ALPHA40)
Alpha Futures Oct 7 50% off Standard, Advanced and Direct with ALPHA50, 40% off Zero
TradeDay Oct 14 Sale cut from up to 60% off to up to 55% off, cheapest account up from $40 to $45
FundedNext Futures Oct 14 Flex 50K sale price $69.99 to $74.99, list $133.99 to $141.99, reset $77.99 to $82.99
Tradeify Oct 2 30% off plus double Gem rewards promotion

The FundedNext rise hits every Flex size: sale prices up $5 to $10, list prices up $7 to $9. A trader who buys a 50K Flex and needs one reset now pays $157.98 instead of $147.98. See the change.

You can follow every move on the price tracker.

Neutral, but worth knowing

  • MFFU added program stats to its Rapid plan pages: 19.97% of evaluation participants passed, 39.2% of traders who reached the funded stage earned at least one payout, and 4.2% were promoted to a live funded account. See the change.
  • Topstep added a worked example to its 40% payout consistency target and said profit from a previous payout cycle does not count toward the next cycle's target. See the change.
  • BluSky now has traders pick a "BluSky" system in Rithmic instead of "Rithmic Paper Trading". It is a setup change, not a rule change.

How these changes affect the leaderboard

Rule changes feed straight into the PropBench Score. Stability, one of its five equal parts, counts each firm's nerfs over the last 12 months, and a rule like Topstep's consistency target is graded in the rules part.

Discount changes move scores more slowly. Scores use each plan's typical price, what traders usually paid over the last 90 days, not today's price. That is why the FundedNext Flex 50K still scores on a typical price of $69.99, and the October 14 rise will only pull its score down if the new prices hold. Today the Flex 50K scores 72 and the Topstep 50K Trading Combine scores 78. See where every plan stands on the leaderboard.

How we track changes

Our crawler identifies itself, follows each site's robots.txt and only reads public pages. Pages behind a bot check are skipped, which is why a few firms have gaps. Changes before October 25, 2026 come from copies saved by the Internet Archive, so we know a page changed between two archived copies, not the exact day. From October 25 every change comes from our own daily crawl. The full process is in the change tracking methodology.

Every change in this post links to its own page, with the exact text before and after. If we got something wrong, the Feedback button on any page reaches us directly.

Every number here comes from firms' public pages, saved by PropBench. Not financial advice. See how we score plans in the methodology.
